MAIL-IN REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS

Mail-in Repair Form

Please fill this out first.

     1.  Fill out the form.   Be sure to include your name inside the shipping box, then send your Macbook to:

ViBe Repair, LLC

1701 Baltic Ave.

Virginia Beach, VA 23452

I’ll provide you with a ticket number & estimate after receiving your device. You don’t pay until the service is complete.

     2.  Seriously, before mailing something, fill out the form.   If I receive a device without a note in the box, from people who have not filled out the form, I won’t know who sent it, or what they want fixed.  Please fill out the form and include a small note in the box with your name on it.  This way, I can match up the machine to your online form and swiftly process your repair.

     3.  Watch for an e-mail to authorize (or decline) repair service.  If you’re a non-commercial customer, I’ll provide you with a free estimate. The only fee you incur would be shipping the laptop to us. I offer free estimates to all customers other than repair shops (and cover the shipping back to you!)

If you are a repair company, receive an estimate, and decline the repair, there is a bench fee of $50 USD.  (Unfortunately, other stores have been firing their own technicians and having others perform estimates rather than paying a staff.)  If you own a store or repair company of any kind, please kindly hire your own staff.

If you have tried to repair it yourself and failed in a manner that will make my life harder, please contact me before mailing in your device as the free estimate may not apply.  I will still try to help you though.

There are some devices I do not service due to a lack of parts, age, & other reasons. Feel free to call or email me to ensure that your issue is serviceable before sending it in.

For Example…

We do not work on boards that have been already worked on by another repair company. If sending in a board that has had prior work, please contact us first to see if an exception can be made in your case. If you are a computer repair store, and worked on it yourself prior to sending it here, destroyed it, and do not contact us in advance, we are not fixing it and will make fun of you live on camera.

We do not service 2011 Macbook Pros for GPU issues.  We service 2010 15″ machines with 330GT graphics for kernel panic, and 2012 retina machines with 650 nVIDIA graphics for kernel panic/blank screen.  However, we do not service 2011 Macbook Pros and AMD graphics cards with board #’s 820-2915 or 820-2914.  Please contact us if confused.

We do not accept board-only repairs.  We only work on devices when the full machine is sent – we will not perform repairs where the logic board is sent by itself.

We do not work on iMac desktop computers over the mail; local repairs only.  iMac computers have a HIGH potential for shipping damage.  To be clear, we take no responsibility for shipping damage on iMacs; our website explicitly states that we will not perform repairs on iMac if mailed to us. Please do not mail us iMacs: bring them in person or find a local repair shop.

We do not service devices that are contaminated with human or animal waste.  We are not able to service any device that contains fecal excrement of any kind.

     4.  Enjoy!  Repair time depends on what service is being performed.  Some repairs can be done the same day, but may require ordering parts. Same for keyboards, trackpads. Motherboard/logic-board repair can take anywhere from an hour to weeks depending on the severity of the issue, but we try to get everything repaired quickly and professionally.

For your particular situation, feel free to email or call us to inquire about the turnaround time for your particular device.

We offer free return shipping of your device, if you authorize the repair(s). If you decline to have the device repaired, there is a $20 – $30 USD return shipping fee, because c’mon. Free shipping is exclusively for devices which we perform the repair. For larger, heavier devices, an additional fee for shipping may apply, or we may send it back without insurance if the shipping for your device reaches over $25.

OTHER STUFF WORTH KNOWING…

  • PLEASE DON’T SEND US A BOX THAT YOU WANT TO RECEIVE BACK.
    • Some people find their Apple box sentimental to them. (We don’t judge.) If your box has sentimental value to you, for any reason, please do not send it to us.
    • All boxes received are broken down, flattened, cut up, and disposed-of the moment they are received, with no exceptions, to conserve precious workspace. If you send us your device in its original box, such as the box Apple sells you the Macbook in – you will not receive it back.
  • PLEASE DON’T SEND AN APPLE CHARGER THAT YOU WANT TO RECEIVE BACK.
    • We do not need your charger to perform repairs on any Apple laptop or iDevice.  (We have plenty!) If your charger has any value to you, for any reason, please do not send it to us.
    • The only notable exception to this rule is a third-party (non-Apple) charger that you’ve used when the device failed.  Feel free to send us the charger for experimentation/education purposes, but understand that we will not ship it back.
  • INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
    • We do not currently offer services to international customers other than the U.S. Government and military service members.
